INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Inspection & Maintenance
Inspection and the removal of all dirt, debris, etc from the inside
of gutters, offsets and downpipes is required at least once
every six months. Also gutters, offsets and downpipes
should be flushed with clean water to ensure water flows away
easily and they are not blocked. Immediately, report any blockages
and installation problems to your installer, and, any suspected
warranty problems to Stalco, following the procedure set out
earlier in this document.
Cleaning
- Washing down with water using a sponge or soft cloth is
required for maintenance of the Rainwater Goods and other products.
This should be done at least once every six months and more
frequently in areas close to the coast where salt water spray is
prevalent, and in areas of high levels of industrial fall out.
Particular care should be taken to prevent any accumulation of salt
crystals or industrial dirt.
- Where washing down with water does not remove the accumulated
crystals and dirt from the Rainwater Goods and/or other products,
most crystals and dirt will be removed by using pure soap or non
abrasive, non caustic dishwashing detergent with warm water and
applied with a sponge, soft cloth or soft bristle brush. To prevent
shiny spots on paint finishes don't press too hard. Rinse with
plenty of fresh clean water immediately afterwards to remove traces
of detergent.
- For grease, oil and dirt not removed by soap or detergent
contact Stalco for advice. Never use abrasive or
solvent type cleaners (turps, kerosene, petrol and the like) or
paint remover on Rainwater Goods and/or other products.
